The Seasons of the Green Man are the lost celebrations of nature when humans relied on the harvest, the birth of lambs and the fertility of spring, after the long winter.  In our insulated, computerized, and petroleum-driven culture, it is true that many of us only see our natural world through the fleeting landscape outside of a car window.

The Green Man’s “foliage spewing” head came from an ancient time when men believed in the abundant return of the seasons: growing, planting and the fall harvest. They danced, sang ballads and protected the “sacred groves” of TREES with their lives.
